God's Open Doors - Sisters Begin Ministry

Although we don't always understand the reasons why, we trust that in God's Providence when one door closes another opens. So it is with the American Province. In our Centennial year (2006) as we ended our presence in two apostolic areas  -  St. Lucy's, our Foundation House in the United States, and Mt St John Academy, Gladstone, NJ - we were called to bring our Baptistine charism and presence to new locations:  

St Fortunata Parish, Brooklyn, NY;   St. Philomena Parish. Livingston, NJ;  St. Elizabeth-St. Brigid Parish, Peapack, NJ

In June 2011 we sadly closed St. Dominic and St. Roch Schools.  Our sadness was uplifted by the conviction that in these locations we had completed the mission that God laid out for us to accomplish. Even as we were closing the door at St Dominic School, God was opening a door for us at St Raymond School, Bronx, NY.  When the school doors re-open in September 2011 three Baptistine Sisters will be members of the Faculty and Staff.
